TOPEKA, Kan. -- The No. 38-ranked Washburn Ichabod tennis team returned to MIAA play with a 7-2 win over No. 49-ranked Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday afternoon at the Washburn Tennis Courts. Washburn will return to action hosting No. 22 Northwest Missouri on Wednesday in Topeka.

The Ichabods jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles play in a match up of regionally-ranked teams. The Ichabods are the No. 3 ranked team while the Lopers are ranked No. 7. Steven Fletcher and Arek Kozaczuk picked up an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles while Thilo Schlenker and Pascal Laucht won at No. 2 doubles by the same score.

In singles play, the Ichabods took spots two through six en route to the 7-2 win improving to 8-5 overall and 3-0 in MIAA play.
