Lady Blues netters set for 3 home matches in 3 days

Warm ups . . . 
The Washburn Lady Blues will have three home matches in three days this week and four over the next five days starting on Thursday when they will host Northwest Missouri at 11:30 a.m. on the Washburn Tennis Courts. The match was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but moved back a day because of a chance of rain in the area. The Lady Blues will then face Truman on Friday and then wrap up the week with Missouri Western on Saturday.

Drop shots . . . 
• The Lady Blues went 1-2 last week with an 8-1 win over Fort Hays State while falling to No. 27-ranked Midwestern State and 6-3 to Nebraska-Kearney.
• Northwest Missouri is 8-7 this season and 3-2 in MIAA play.
• The Bearcats will face Missouri-Kansas City the day before taking on Washburn.
• The Bearcats are ranked No. 4 in the Central Regional rankings.
• The Truman Bulldogs are 4-6 this season and 1-6 in MIAA action.
• Truman will take on Quincy on April 10 and Fort Hays State on April 12 before facing Washburn.
• Missouri Western is 6-13 this season and 2-8 in MIAA play.
• The Giffons will battle William Jewell on Monday this week and Baker on Wednesday before taking on Washburn on Saturday.
Jodie Blackim leads the team with 10 singles wins this season while Sophie O'Neill and Casyn Buchman each have seven singles wins.
• In singles play this season, Washburn is 42-93 overall while recording a 30-42 record in doubles play.
• In dual matches, Washburn is 19-68 in singles play while going 17-28 in doubles play.
• Washburn is 14-25 in singles play in MIAA dual matches.
• The doubles team of Blackim and Kirsten Holle has eight of the 17 dual doubles wins.
• Washburn has had 13 different doubles team combinations and nine of those have come in dual matches.

Up Next. . . 
Washburn's regular season home finale with be against William Jewell on April 16 and the Lady Blues will wrap up the regular season at Southwest Baptist on April 16 in a rescheduled match from March 30 which was postponed because of rain.
