What's in a name
• Starting this season all of the women's athletic teams will be called Ichabods.
• All women's teams prior to the 2013-14 school year can and will be referenced to as Lady Blues.
• Name change was made to have a unified athletic department and to have a graphical representation of the sports teams at Washburn.
• 'Bods is allowable on second reference
• Lady Ichabods or Lady 'Bods should never be used.
Noting Emporia State
• The Hornets are 2-3 this season and will be playing their first MIAA match against the Ichabods.
• ESU topped No. 19 Regis 2-1 in double overtime on Friday.
• Tommi Bouknight leads the team with two goals.
• Tadira Rivera is 2-2 in net for the Hornets with one shutout and a 0.95 goal against average.

(9/15/2013) TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod soccer team tossed a shutout in Yager Stadium on Sunday afternoon in a 3-0 win over Colorado Christian. The win improved the Ichabods to 2-3 on the season.
Washburn scored all of its goals in an eight-minute span.
Devon Schmitz broke the scoreless tie in the 41st minute with her second goal of the season from 10-yards out. Eighty-four seconds later the Ichabods added their second goal when
Brianna Ament scored on a free kick from
Lara Doescher, who picked up an assist as did
Lexi Barton on the goal.
The Ichabods took the 2-0 lead into the half and
Kate Combs scored her second goal of the season from 8-yards out off an assist from Schmitz in the 49th minute of the match.
Tori Fuglister recorded her second shutout of the season and the fifth of her career in the win recording two saves while facing four shots.
Washburn outshot the Cougars 13 to 4 including a 7 to 1 advantage in the first half. Three different Ichabods had two shots and Schmitz finished with two of the four shots on goal to lead Washburn.
