Opening Notes• The Washburn Ichabods begin their longest road trip of the season as they will play the next four matches away from Yager Stadium starting with Central Oklahoma on Oct. 3 followed by an Oct. 5 match up with Northeastern State.
•   The Ichabods are 0-7-1 overall and 0-3-1 in MIAA play.
•   Last week the Ichabods dropped a 1-0 match to Lindenwood and were topped 5-1 by then No. 17-ranked Central Missouri.

Devon Schmitz recorded her first goal of the season and her third of her career against Emporia State.

Audra Keehn scored her first collegiate goal against Northern State off an assist from Jenna Cunninghman.

•   Washburn has been outshot by its opponents 111 to 62 this season including an 47 to 28 disadvantage in the first half of matches this season.
•    Washburn and its opponents through eight matches have been outshot in corner kicks 38 to 21.
•    Four of the seniors (

Whitney Skinner) have been part of the program for  four years.
•    With eight sophomores and three redshirt freshmen the Ichabods will have 24 of their 30 players listed as underclassmen.
•    Washburn's roster has 30 players on it for the 2014 season. It is the largest roster the Ichabods have had in the program's history.

Kaitlin Minnich saw her first action in goal against Emporia State and shut the Hornets out for the final 65 minutes of the match with four saves picking up the tie in net.
 Noting Central Oklahoma•   Central Oklahoma is 6-2-0 and 3-1-0 in MIAA this season.
•   Gabi Bochus leads the team with four goals.
•   The Bronchos lead the all-time series with the Ichabods 1-4-1.
•   UCO won both meetings last season including a 2-0 win in the MIAA Tournament semifinals.
•   Overall the Bronchos have won the last three meetings.
•   The Ichabods lone win over UCO was on Sept. 10, 2008 in a 4-3 win in a match played in Wichita.
 Last meeting with Central Oklahoma   (Nov. 8, 2013) OLATHE, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod soccer team had its season come to an end with a 2-0 loss to Central Oklahoma in the  MIAA Tournament semifinals.  Washburn ends the season with a 9-9-2 record.
   Playing with a 25-plus MPH wind, Central Oklahoma took advantage scoring two goals taking the 2-0 lead into the half. The Bronchos got on the board in the 23rd minute when Miranda Thorne scored her first goal of the season off a deflection and then Emily Precure recorded her third goal of the season off an assist from Paige Matacchiera  inside the box. The Bronchos  (9-9-2) outshot the Ichabods 12  to 1 in the first half.
   In the second half, Washburn attempted seven shots going with the wind and placed five on goal, but were unable to put  any past UCO's Brandi Bartley.

Brianna Ament each had two shots with both coming on goal.
Tori Fuglister had 10 saves including a penalty kick stop of a UCO attempt.
 Noting Northeastern State•   Northeastern State is 5-3-0 this season and 2-2-0 in the MIAA heading into a  Friday night match with Emporia State.
•   Melissa Giles leads the team with four goals adding an assist for nine points.
•   The RiverHawks lead the all-time series 2-0-0 and have outscored Washburn 4-1 in the two matches.
 Last meeting with Northeastern State   (Nov. 3, 2013) TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- The Washburn Ichabods were shutout in their regular season finale falling 2-0 at Northeastern State.Â
   The team were tied at 0-0 at the break, but the RiverHawks Emily Voges scored her first goal of the season in the 54th minute. NSU added a second goal in the 78th minute stretching the lead to 2-0 enroute to the win.

Caysie Beetley had four shots to lead Washburn's attack.
Megan Buckley had two shots with one coming on goal. Overall the RiverHawks outshot the Ichabods 14 to 12 with a 6 to 4 advantage in shots on goal.
Tori Fuglister had four saves in net for Washburn.

 Up nextThe Ichabods will face Missouri Western on Oct. 10 and Northwest Missouri on Oct. 12 in two more road matches. Washburn will not return home until Oct. 17 when they will face Missouri Southern starting a five-match homestand.
