TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod soccer team fell 1-0 in overtime to Missouri Southern on Friday night in Yager Stadium. The Ichabods will return to action on Sunday when they will play host to Southwest Baptist at 2 p.m.
Neither team could get much going offensively in the match as the teams combined for 19 shots overall. The Lions outshot the Ichabods 11 to 8 in 91-plus minutes. No one scored until Kelsey Haist scored her second goal of the season on an assist from Michaela Altvater after she received the centering pass and put it into the lower left hand corner of the net 101 seconds into overtime.
Sara Specht and
Morgan El-Attrache each had two shots to lead Washburn.
Kelly Schunk and Specht each had shots on goal for the Ichabods.
Tori Fuglister had four saves in net for Washburn.
