Ichabods play final three road matches this week

Complete Match Notes (pdf)

The 10th-ranked Ichabods will play their final road matches of the season as they play three MIAA contests this week. Tuesday they complete the season series of the Turnpike Tussle with a 7 p.m. match at Emporia State. Friday they play at 6 p.m. at Central Oklahoma and Saturday they play at 2 p.m. at Missouri Southern.

Ichablogging Weekly Notes
Washburn beat all three of those teams earlier this year in home matches.
The Ichabods went 1-1 last week and are 19-4 overall and tied for fourth in the MIAA at 11-4. With no conference tournament, the regular season MIAA champion (with tie-breakers if needed) will get the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
ESU is 11-9 overall and sixth in the MIAA at 7-8. UCO is 20-4 overall and tied with Washburn at 11-4. The Bronchos will play at MSSU Tuesday before hosting WU. The Lions are 6-17 overall and 10th in the league at 3-12. They host
UCO and ESU this week before Saturday's match with Washburn.
Marissa Cox jumped past her sister, Mandi Cox (2004-07) and is now 15th in school history with 1164 kills. She needs 56 more to jump over three former teammates including current assistant coach Jessica Fey (2009-12).
Cox is third in school history hitting .322 and Mandi is second with a .326 percentage. Sophomore Sarah Vicory is hitting .24 in her career and will be eligible to enter the chart after completing her second year.
Vicory leads the MIAA hitting .364 this year and Cox is sixth hitting .315. Cox is third in the league with 377 kills a set and Leanna Willer is sixth with 3.69 a set. Mattie-Ann Swenson is fourth with 1.15 blocks a set and Alyssa Carney is fifth with 5.06 digs a set.
Cox is now ninth in school history with 51 double-figure kill matches and Leanna Willer is ninth with 23 career double-doubles.
WU is 35-76 all-time against ESU, 7-2 against UCO and 36-34 against MSSU.
The Ichabods dropped two spots in the AVCA national poll to 10th. They have been ranked 143 straight times going back to 2003 and have been in the top 10 in all nine polls this year.
