TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- The Washburn Ichabods fell 1-0 to Northeastern State on Sunday afternoon on the road in Tahlequah. Washburn returns to action on Friday, Oct. 10 against Missouri Western.
The RiverHawks (6-4-0, 3-3-0 MIAA) broke a scoreless tie the in the 44th minute when McKenna Jetton scored her second goal of the season on an assist from Meagan Grisworld going past the left post.Â
Neither team scored inthe second half as Northeastern took the 1-0 win. In the win, Washburn (0-9-1, 0-6-0 MIAA) was outshot 22 to 5 including 13 to 2 in the first half.
Tori Fuglister had nine saves in net for Washburn. The RiverHawks had a 10 to 2 advantage in shots on goal.
Sara Specht and
Emily Stauffer each had one shot on goal for Washburn and
Bailey Wobig had two shots overall.
