Weekly Notes Opening Notes• The Washburn Ichabods continue their longest road trip of the season as they will play the next two matches away from Yager Stadium with Missouri Western on Friday and at Northwest Missouri on Sunday.
•   The Ichabods are 0-9-1 overall and 0-5-1 in MIAA play.
•   Last week the Ichabods dropped a 6-0 match to Central Oklahoma and a 1-0 match to Northeastern State.
•    The Ichabods were picked fifth in the MIAA preseason coaches poll.
 'Bod's and Ends•    The Ichabods are looking for their first win of the season.
•   Washburn has scored only four goals in 855 minutes of action this season and have been shutout in its last two matches.
•    The Washburn Ichabod soccer team has 13 freshmen on the roster this season.
•    Washburn was 2-10 in matches the last two seasons in matches which were decided by one goal going 0-6 this season.

Emily Stauffer leads the Ichabods with two goals this season.

Devon Schmitz recorded her first goal of the season and her third of her career against Emporia State.

Audra Keehn scored her first collegiate goal against Northern State off an assist from Jenna Cunninghman.

Sara Specht leads the team with two assists.
•   Washburn has been outshot by its opponents 168 to 72 this season including an 82 to 39 disadvantage in the second half of matches this season.
•    Washburn has recorded 23 corner kicks compared to 50 for its opponents.
•    Four of the seniors (
Tori Fuglister,
Valerie Harms,
Jenna Cunningham and
Whitney Skinner) have been part of the program for  four years.
•    With eight sophomores and three redshirt freshmen the Ichabods will have 24 of their 30 players listed as underclassmen.
•    Washburn's roster has 30 players on it for the 2014 season. It is the largest roster the Ichabods have had in the program's history.

Kaitlin Minnich saw her first action in goal against Emporia State and shut the Hornets out for the final 65 minutes of the match with four saves picking up the tie in net.
 Noting Missouri Western•   The Griffons are 5-4-1 and 2-3-1 in the MIAA after picking up a pair of wins last weekend topping Missouri Southern and Southwest Baptist in 1-0 wins.
•   The Ichabods lead the all-time series with the Griffons 11-5-0 and have won the last two by 2-0 scores.
 Last meeting with Missouri Western(Oct. 16, 2013) ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- The Washburn Ichabod soccer team picked up its third straight shutout and the sixth of the season increasing its unbeaten streak to five in a 2-0 win over Missouri Western.Â
In a make up of last Friday's game which was canceled with the Ichabods leading 1-0 at the half because of lightning in the area the Ichabods and the Griffons (2-10-1, 0-6-0 MIAA) were tied 0-0 at the half with Washburn holding a 7 to 1 advantage in shots.
However in the second half it took 2:23 for the Ichabods to take the lead for good when
Caysie Beetley recorded her second goal of the season. Less than six minutes later,
Bailey Wobig scored her third goal of the season off an assist from Beetley (her fifth in eight games this year) putting Washburn up 2-0 in the 53rd minute.
Tori Fuglister picked up her sixth shutout of the season in net for Washburn picking up one save while facing five shots.
Washburn outshot the Griffons 15 to five in the match putting nine of the 15 shots on goal. All four of Beetley's shots were on goal and Wobig had three shots on goal and a team-high five shots in the match.
 Noting Northwest Missouri•   The Bearcats are 5-4-1 this season and 2-3-1 in the MIAA entering a Friday night match with Emporia State.
•   The Ichabods lead the all-time series with the Bearcats winning the last meeting 3-0 in Topeka.
•   Six of the matches with the Bearcats have gone to overtime with Washburn going 3-0-3 in the extra time matches.
 Last meeting with Northwest MissouriTOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to four with a 3-0 win over Northwest Missouri on Sunday in Yager Stadium.Â
Washburn had a 1-0 lead at the halftime break when they scored the first goal of the match off a corner kick from
Kaitlyn Doescher to
Lara Doescher who scored from 5-yards out recording her first goal of the season in the 26th minute.
The Ichabods added to their score in the 56th minute when
Caysie Beetley found a streaking
Kate Combs down the field for a break away goal when Combs scored from 18-yards out on her third goal of the season putting Washburn up 2-0.
Washburn wrapped up the scoring when
Kaitlyn Doescher scored her first goal of the season off an assist from
Brianna Ament from the corner of the penalty box after sending the ball over the keeper's outstretched hands into the back of the net.
Tori Fuglister recorded her fifth shutout of the season recording four saves facing 12 shots. Washburn outshot the Bearcats 16 to 12 in the match.
Beetley led the Ichabods with four shots including two on goal. Jordan Albright had three shots with two on goal to lead the Bearcats.
