TOPEKA, Kan. – The Ichabods let Nebraska-Kearney hit over .300 as a team in the final two sets Saturday night as the Lopers won 3-1 (25-21, 18-25, 25-22, 25-14) in both team's season finale.
 
The Ichabods ended the year 24-6 and tied for fourth in the MIAA at 16-6. They were eighth in the latest NCAA Central Region ranking and will likely need to jump to seventh in the region to earn a spot in the NCAA tournament. They went 1-1 since the last ranking came out.

The Senior Day attendance of over 1,000 helped Washburn average a school-record 719 fans a game in the 11 home matches.
 
Leanna Willer set a career high with 25 digs and she added 19 kills for a double-double. Sarah Vicory hit .375 and had 11 kills and three blocks. Paige Regneir hit .381 to lead all attackers and she had eight kills.
 
Marissa Cox, playing in possibly her final match, had nine kills and is 11th in school history with 1,244 kills. Her .319 career attack percentage is sixth. Vicory's .332 career attack percentage puts her second in school history and her .370 attack percentage this year is the third highest in school history.
 
Alyssa Carney had 26 digs to lead the back row and Natalie Bates had a double-double with 48 assists and 13 digs. Callie Lowry had 12 digs.
 
The Lopers hit .262 as a team while Washburn had a .198 attack percentage. UNK edged Washburn in blocks, 10-9 and 68-55 in kills.
 
The NCAA selection show is Sunday at 9 p.m. Washburn will need to jump at least one spot to earn its 11th straight NCAA tournament bid. UNK is 26-3 and MIAA co-champions at 18-3.
