ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- The Washburn Ichabod tennis team won its second straight match with a 5-4 win over Missouri Western on Wednesday. Washburn will be back in action on Friday at Midwestern State and Saturday against Texas Permian Basin in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Sophie O'Neill recorded the match-clinching victory at No. 3 singles with a 7-5, 6-0 win over Denise Chiao giving Washburn a 5-4 win. The Ichabods trailed 2-1 after doubles play when the No. 1 team of Casyn Buchman and Jodie Blackim picked up an 8-0 win over Meara Smith and Ceara Boldridge. Washburn then stormed back to win singles matches by by Buchman, Blackim, O'Neill and Gwen Shepler.
