2013-14 Washburn Athletic Director Honor RollTOPEKA, Kan. -- Ninety-eight student-athletes were named to the Washburn Athletic Director's Honor Roll Wednesday for carrying a 3.25 cumulative grade-point average after grades were released from the spring semester.
The softball team led all sports by getting 80 percent, 12 of its 15 team members, on the list. Soccer put 77 percent of its players on the list. In total, 34 percent of Washburn's 286 student-athletes made the AD Honor Roll.
Washburn's 286 student-athletes combined to carry a 3.14 GPA after the spring semester with five of the 10 sports carrying at least a 3.30 GPA. The team with the highest GPA during the spring semester will be announced after all pending grades have been reported and that team will be honored during a football game this fall.
"Once again, Washburn student-athletes excelled in the classroom and in their competition," athletic director Loren Ferre' said. "We're proud to have over one third of them make the Honor Roll and for helping us acheive success in the classroom and on the field. That's one of our goals every year."
