MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Washburn Ichabod soccer team outshot the Dragons 18 to 12 but a goal in the 70th minute was the difference as Washburn fell 1-0 to Minnesota State-Moorhead in their season opener. Washburn will face Northern State on Sunday before opening the home slate with Rockhurst on Tuesday.

The two teams were tied at the break as the Ichabods and the Dragon each recorded five shots. In the second half, Washburn outshot the Dragons 18 to 12 but could not get any into the back of the net.

Emily Stauffer and Sarah Taylor each had three shots to lead Washburn. Stauffer and Sara Specht each had two shots on goal for Washburn. Tori Fuglister had seven saves in net allowing one goal.
