WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Washburn trailed just once in a 25-18, 25-17, 25-12 sweep over Fort Lewis Saturday morning in the second day of the Midwestern State Hampton Inn-vitational. The Ichabods will wrap up action at 2 p.m. against Northwestern Oklahoma.

Washburn (3-0) used an 11-2 run that included eight straight points to erase its only deficit of the match early in the second set. The Skyhawks opened the set with a 5-2 lead but four straight kills from the Ichabods started the 8-0 run.
Leanna Willer recorded four of her team-high 13 kills late in the second set to help Washburn pull away.

Willer hit .273 in the match and added eight digs.
Marissa Cox had seven kills and
Mattie-Ann Swenson had a team-high five blocks.
Alyssa Carney led on defense with 11 digs and
Natalie Bates led with 17 assists.
Liz Powell made her first start at setter and had 15 assists.
