Weekly Soccer Notes | Live stats Opening Notes• The Washburn Ichabod soccer team will open their home slate with Rockhurst on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. vs the Hawks in Yager Stadium.
•   Washburn is coming off an 0-2-0 weekend after losses at Minnesota State-Moorhead in a 1-0 loss and a 3-1 loss at Northern State.
•    The Ichabods were picked fifth in the MIAA preseason coaches poll.
 Story Lines• The Ichabods will have one of their largest senior classes in the program's history as nine Washburn student-athletes will play their final season in the blue and white.
• Four of the seniors (
Tori Fuglister,
Valerie Harms,
Jenna Cunningham and
Whitney Skinner) have been part of the program for  four years.
• Washburn's roster has 30 players on it for the 2014 season. It is the largest roster the Ichabods have had in the program's history.
 'Bod's and Ends• The Washburn Ichabod soccer team will have 13 freshmen on the roster this season.
• With eight sophomores and three redshirt freshmen the Ichabods will have 24 of their 30 players listed as underclassmen.
• Washburn was 2-5 in matches the last two seasons in matches which were decided by one goal.

Audra Keehn scored her first collegiate goal against Northern State off an assist from Jenna Cunninghman last time out against the Wolves.
•   The assist was the first one of Cunningham's career at Washburn.
•   The two shots against MSU-Moorhead by Sara Spect tied a career high.
•   Washburn has outs shot its opponents 30 to 22 this season including 23 to 12 advantage in the second half of matches this season.
• Washburn has also attempted more corner kicks than its opponents holding a 12 to 7 advantage.
 Noting Rockhurst•   Rockhurst was 13-6-3 last season going 9-3-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
•   The Hawks reached the second round of the NCAA Playoffs in 2013.
•   Rockhurst has a 1-0 win over Upper Iowa and a 3-0 win over Concordia St. Paul.
•   Brandi Van Booven leads the team with four points recording a goal and two assists.Â
 Last meeting with Rockhurst(Sept. 11, 2013) KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Washburn Ichabods dropped a 2-1 decision at Rockhurst on Wednesday night in Kansas City.Â
The Hawks (1-0) took a 1-0 lead into the half after Caroline Brandt opened the scoring on an assist from Kinsley Fitzpatrick. Rockhurst added a second goal 1:29 into the second half taking the 2-0 lead.
Washburn's lone goal of the match came in the 85th minute when
Danielle Curtis scored her first goal of the season on a free kick from 20 yards out.
Rockhurst outshot the Ichabods 18 to 5 in the match and had an 11 to 3 advantage in corner kickoffs. Washburn had only one shot on goal while the Hawks recorded eight.
Tori Fuglister had six saves in net for Washburn.

Tori Fuglister needs 38 saves to move into second place all-time at Washburn and 78 saves to move into first all-time. She has 241 career saves entering the season.
• Fuglister has played in 50 matches at Washburn and she needs 13 matches played to move into first on the all-time goalie chart.
 Up nextThe Ichabods will be off until Sept. 17 when they will face Newman in Wichita. Washburn will then open MIAA play on Sept. 19 when they will face Emporia State and Nebraska-Kearney on Sept. 21 before returning home of Sept 26 to face Lindenwood continuing MIAA play.
