TOPEKA, Kan. -- For the fifth time this season the Ichabod soccer team was on the wrong side of a 1-0 loss falling to Fort Hays State on Sunday at Yager Stadium. The Ichabods will open the MIAA Tournament on Wednesday at top-seeded Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo.
After a scoreless first half, the Tigers (10-7-1, 7-4-0 MIAA) scored the only goal in the 58th minute when Cenayda Guzman scored off a scrum in the middle of the box staking Fort Hays to a 1-0 lead.
Washburn was unable to find the net the remainder of the match falling to 5-8-5 and 4-5-2 in MIAA play in its regular season finale.
Washburn outshot the Tigers 11 to 9 in the match including 6 to 4 in the first half.
Morgan El-Attrache had three shots and
Sara Specht and
Bailey Wobig each recorded two. Each team finished with three shots on goal.
Kaitlin Minnich recorded two saves in the match.
