First serve . . . •   The No. 49-ranked Washburn Ichabod men's tennis team will return to the court on Wednesday when they will take on NCAA Division I foe Wichita State and then play host to Concordia (Neb.) on Friday.
•   The Ichabods are coming off an 8-1 loss to Rockhurst last time out on March 12 in Kansas City.
•   Concordia is a member of the Great Plains Athletic Conference and 1-3 on the season.
•   Wichita State is ranked No. 44 in the nation and enters the match with a 10-3 record and has won its last four matches.
•   The Ichabods lost 7-0 to the Shockers last season on Feb. 22 in Wichita.
•   The Ichabods were ranked No. 6 in the latest ITA Regional Poll.Â
 Drop shots . . . •   The Ichabods are 42-39 in singles play this season and have gone 13-21 in doubles play this year.

Blake Hunter leads the Ichabods with 11 singles wins going 11-5 and
Martin Wieand has 10 singles wins and a 10-6 record.
Matt Barlow has a 9-5 singles record.
•   In doubles play, the duo of
Matt Barlow and
Blake Hunter are 6-6 while the team of
Trey Horton and
Martin Wieand are 4-6 this season.
•   Both Hunter and Wieand reached the quarterfinals of the ITA Regional Tennis Tournament last fall in Springfield in singles play.
 Coaching . . . Former Ichabod tennis player
Lance Lysaught is in his first season as the Ichabod head coach. He started the Ottawa tennis program from scratch going 9-17 for the Braves. Overall he is 11-25 as a collegiate head coach in third season and 2-4 in his first season at Washburn.
 Up next . . . The Ichabods will open MIAA play on March 30 when they will take on No. 34-ranked Southwest Baptist and then face No. 33-ranked Nebraska-Kearney on April 1. The Ichabods will take on No. 45-ranked Harding on April 4 before returning home on April 7 to host William Jewell.
