TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod women's tennis team fell 7-2 in MIAA play on Thursday at the Washburn Tennis Complex to Missouri Western dropping to 1-7 on the season. The Ichabods will return to action on Friday when they will host Concordia (Neb.) at 2 p.m.

The Ichabods were down 2-1 after doubles play as the duo of Jodie Blackim and Maggie Plum picked up the point for the Ichabods at No. 2 doubles. Washburn's other point came at No. 5 singles when Gwen Shepler topped Denise Chiao 6-4, 6-4 at No. 5 singles for the win.
