KEARNEY, Neb. -- The No. 44-ranked Washburn Ichabods were topped by No. 27-ranked Nebraska-Kearney on Wednesday in Kearney. Washburn will face non-conference foe Harding in Springfield, Mo., on Saturday.

Washburn trailed 3-0 after doubles play before picking up straight set wins at Nos. 1-3 in the Ichabod line up. Martin Wieand won his match at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-4 over Joey Richards. Blake Hunter won 7-5, 6-3 over Georges Wakim at No. 2 and Matt Barlow picked up a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles over Lucas Garces. However it would be the only three points the Ichabods would get as Washburn fell in straight sets in Nos. 4-6 singles as the Lopers won the match 6-3.
