TOPEKA, Kan. -- The No. 44-ranked Washburn Ichabod men's tennis team was topped by the No. 19-ranked Northwest Missouri squad 6-3 on Monday at the Washburn Tennis Complex. Washburn returns to play at Emporia State on Tuesday.

The Ichabods' No. 1 doubles team of Blake Hunter and Matt Barlow defeated Aymeric Autones and Alvaro Riveros 9-7 as the Bearcats took 2 of 3 matches.

In singles play, the Ichabods recorded wins at No. 3 when Barlow topped Riveros 6-1, 7-6 in straight sets and then Dario Munoz-Poletti beat Josef Altmann at No. 5 singles 6-3, 2-6, 10-6 in a super tiebreaker.
