TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod women's tennis team fell 6-3 to Northwest Missouri on Monday at the Washburn Tennis Complex. The Ichabods will return to play on Wednesday at Emporia State.

The Ichabods trailed 2-1 after doubles play as the team of Maggie Plum and Gwen Shepler picked up a victory at No. 2 topping Vilune Sestokaite and Marianne Hull 8-4.

In singles play, Jodie Blackim topped Lorena Rivas Jarolin 6-7, 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2. Washburn's third point came from Gwen Shepler at No. 5 singles as she beat Hull 6-4, 6-2.
