Opening Notes
•     The Washburn Ichabod soccer team returns home to open a four-game homestand before playing its next five on the road as they will play host to Central Oklahoma and Northeastern State this weekend.
•    Washburn will take on Central Oklahoma on Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. and then face Northeastern State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
•    Washburn (2-4-2, 1-1-0 MIAA) is coming off a 1-0 loss to No. 1-ranked Central Missouri last time out after beating Lindenwood 2-1 in double overtime on Sept. 25.

 'Bod's and Ends
•    The Ichabods have scored seven goals in eight matches this season after scoring only eight goals in 18 matches last season.
•    The Ichabods lost 1-0 to the No. 1-ranked Central Missouri Jennies last time out. It was the third time Washburn had faced the No. 1 team in the country and the first since Nov. 5, 2006 when they tied No. 1 Nebraska-Omaha 2-2 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, but lost 3-1 in penalty kicks. The first time the Ichabods faced the No. 1 team in the nation was on Sept. 20, 2003 and lost 4-0 in the first year of the Washburn program.
•    The Ichabods are being outshot 111 to 56 this season and 9 to 3 in overtime.
•    Kaitlin Minnich has recorded 41 saves and a .804 save percentage in her first eight collegiate starts playing all 778 minutes this season in net for the Ichabods.
•    Paige Swanson and Michelle Keleher each have two goals to lead the Ichabods this season. Cadence Bourne, Bailey Wobig, Emily Stauffer and have each scored one goal for the Ichabods this season.
•    Sara Specht leads the Ichabods with two assists while Swanson, Bourne, Kelsi Smith and Morgan El-Attrache each have one assist for Washburn this season.
•    Paige Swanson leads the team with five points this season (2 goals, 1 assist).

 Noting Central Oklahoma
•    The Bronchos are 4-3-1 entering the match with the Ichabods on Friday night.
•    UCO beat Northwest Missouri 2-1 last time out after tying Missouri Western 1-1 in double overtime on Sept. 25.
•    Kentia Kokis leads the team with four goals while Falun Dodd has two goals and three assists for UCO.
•    Elle Stover is 2-3-1 in net with a 1.64 goal against average with 22 saves in five starts. 

 Series history with Central Oklahoma
•    The Bronchos lead the all-time series with the Ichabods 5-1-1.
•    Washburn has been outscored 22 to 8 in seven all-time meetings.
•    Overall the Bronchos have won the last four meetings.
•    The Ichabods lone win over UCO was on Sept. 10, 2008 in a 4-3 win in a match played in Wichita.
•    The tie came on Aug. 25, 2007 in a 3-3 double overtime match played in Wichita Falls, Texas.

 Last meeting with Central Oklahoma
(Oct. 3, 2014) EDMOND, Okla. -- The Washburn Ichabods allowed three goals in 71 seconds and could not recover in a 6-0 loss at Central Oklahoma. 
The Bronchos scored goals at the 9:09, 9:33 and 10:20 mark of the first half before adding another in the 26th minute taking a 4-0 lead into the break.
In the second half, the Bronchos added two more goals taking the shutout win.
Emily Hahn had three goals for the Bronchos (7-2-0, 4-1-0 MIAA) and Kate Foran scored two to lead UCO.
Washburn (0-8-1, 0-4-1 MIAA) was outshot 35 to 5 in the match as Kate Combs came off the bench to record three of Washburn's four shots on goal. 

 Noting Northeastern State
•    The RiverHawks are 7-1-0 this season and 2-0-0 entering an Oct. 2 date with Emporia State.
•    Anastasia Robinson leads the team with 17 points on six goals and five assists.
•    Jennifer Cudjoe has five goals and one assist.
•    Julia Mathis has two goals with five assists for nine points.
•    The RiverHawks have won their last three matches coming off a 1-0 win over Missouri Western on Sept. 27.
•    The lone loss of the year came in a 1-0 defeat by Central Oklahoma.

 Series history with Northeastern State
•    The RiverHawks lead the all-time series 3-0-0 and have outscored Washburn 5-1 in the three matches.
•    Washburn lost the only meeting played in Topeka in a 2-1 defeat on Oct. 28, 2012.

 Last meeting with Central Missouri
(Oct. 5,  2014) TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- The Washburn Ichabods fell 1-0 to Northeastern State on Sunday afternoon on the road in Tahlequah. 
The RiverHawks (6-4-0, 3-3-0 MIAA) broke a scoreless tie the in the 44th minute when McKenna Jetton scored her second goal of the season on an assist from Meagan Grisworld going past the left post. 
Neither team scored in the second half as Northeastern took the 1-0 win. In the win, Washburn (0-9-1, 0-6-0 MIAA) was outshot 22 to 5 including 13 to 2 in the first half. Tori Fuglister had nine saves in net for Washburn. The RiverHawks had a 10 to 2 advantage in shots on goal. Sara Specht and Emily Stauffer each had one shot on goal for Washburn and Bailey Wobig had two shots overall.

 About head coach Chris Jones
•    Chris Jones is 2-4-2 in his first season at Washburn and is only the second coach in the program's history since 2003.
•    Jones spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Fort Hays State where the Tigers went 20-13-5 coaching 11 all-MIAA picks.
•    Prior to joining the Tigers, he was president and coach of the University of Oklahoma's men's club team.

• Washburn is 92-118-34 (.449) all-time in its 13th season of action. 
• In MIAA play, the Ichabods are 59-73-21 (.460). 
• In home matches, the Ichabods are 47-46-16 (.514).

 Up next
•     After facing the RiverHawks on Sunday, Washburn returns to the pitch on Oct. 9 hosting Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri on Oct. 11. The Ichabods will then be on the road for the next five matches and will return home on Nov. 1 against Fort Hays State on senior day at 1 p.m. wrapping up the regular season.
