Opening Notes• The Washburn Ichabod soccer team returns home to open a four-game homestand before playing its next five on the road as they will play host to Central Oklahoma and Northeastern State this weekend.
• Washburn will take on Central Oklahoma on Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. and then face Northeastern State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
• Washburn (2-4-2, 1-1-0 MIAA) is coming off a 1-0 loss to No. 1-ranked Central Missouri last time out after beating Lindenwood 2-1 in double overtime on Sept. 25.
'Bod's and Ends• The Ichabods have scored seven goals in eight matches this season after scoring only eight goals in 18 matches last season.

It was the third time Washburn had faced the No. 1 team in the country and the first since Nov. 5, 2006 when they tied No. 1 Nebraska-Omaha 2-2 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, but lost 3-1 in penalty kicks. The first time the Ichabods faced the No. 1 team in the nation was on Sept. 20, 2003 and lost 4-0 in the first year of the Washburn program.

Last meeting with Central Oklahoma(Oct. 3, 2014) EDMOND, Okla. -- The Washburn Ichabods allowed three goals in 71 seconds and could not recover in a 6-0 loss at Central Oklahoma.
The Bronchos scored goals at the 9:09, 9:33 and 10:20 mark of the first half before adding another in the 26th minute taking a 4-0 lead into the break.
In the second half, the Bronchos added two more goals taking the shutout win.
Emily Hahn had three goals for the Bronchos (7-2-0, 4-1-0 MIAA) and Kate Foran scored two to lead UCO.
Washburn (0-8-1, 0-4-1 MIAA) was outshot 35 to 5 in the match as
Kate Combs came off the bench to record three of Washburn's four shots on goal.
Noting Northeastern State• The RiverHawks are 7-1-0 this season and 2-0-0 entering an Oct. 2 date with Emporia State.
• Anastasia Robinson leads the team with 17 points on six goals and five assists.

Last meeting with Central Missouri(Oct. 5, 2014) TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- The Washburn Ichabods fell 1-0 to Northeastern State on Sunday afternoon on the road in Tahlequah.
The RiverHawks (6-4-0, 3-3-0 MIAA) broke a scoreless tie the in the 44th minute when McKenna Jetton scored her second goal of the season on an assist from Meagan Grisworld going past the left post.
Neither team scored in the second half as Northeastern took the 1-0 win. In the win, Washburn (0-9-1, 0-6-0 MIAA) was outshot 22 to 5 including 13 to 2 in the first half.
Tori Fuglister had nine saves in net for Washburn. The RiverHawks had a 10 to 2 advantage in shots on goal.
Sara Specht and
Emily Stauffer each had one shot on goal for Washburn and
Bailey Wobig had two shots overall.

Chris Jones is 2-4-2 in his first season at Washburn and is only the second coach in the program's history since 2003.
• Jones spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Fort Hays State where the Tigers went 20-13-5 coaching 11 all-MIAA picks.
• Prior to joining the Tigers, he was president and coach of the University of Oklahoma's men's club team.
