ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- The Washburn Ichabod women's tennis team lost a 5-4 decision at Lindenwood on Saturday. The Ichabods will return to action at Northwest Missouri on Monday.

Washburn (5-5, 2-1 MIAA) trailed 2-1 after doubles as Laura Shkembi and MaKenna Gonzales beat Diana Castro and Alexis McCarthy 8-3.

In singles, Washburn's Jodie Blackim lost only one game at No. 2 singles to Gloria Marras winning 6-0, 6-1. Whitney Holloman won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 singles over Castro and Washburn's final point came at No. 6 singles when Gwen Shepler topped McCarthy.
