Ichabod women's tennis team host Rockhurst on Tuesday, two others this weekend

First serve . . .
•    The Washburn Ichabod women's tennis team returns to the court with three matches this week starting with Rockhurst on Tuesday before facing No. 16-ranked Northeastern State on Friday and Central Oklahoma on Saturday.
•    The Ichabods are 8-7 and 3-3 in the MIAA after splitting matches last week falling at Missouri Western before sweeping Fort Hays State last time out.
•    Rockhurst enters the match with a 7-5 record.
•    The Ichabods lead the all-time record with Rockhurst 15-10 and the Hawks have won the last four meetings … Washburn's last win in the series was a 5-4 win on April 8, 2011 in Kansas City.
•    Northeastern State is ranked 16th in the nation with a 14-2 record and leads the all-time series with the Ichabods 11-0 … the RiverHawks have won their last 10 matches entering Friday's match with the Ichabods.
•    Central Oklahoma is 14-8 this season entering a Friday match at Emporia State.
•    UCO leads the all-time series with the Ichabods 5-2 and has won the last three meetings … Washburn's last win over the Bronchos was on March 17, 2005 in a 6-3 win in Topeka.
•    Jennifer Krause and Gwen Shepler lead the team with 10 singles wins while Jodie Blackim has nine and Whitney Holloman and Holly Johnston each have eight.
•    The Ichabods have used 13 different doubles combinations this season.
•    The team of Ally Burr and Jodie Blackim have a team-high 13 wins going 10-4 at No. 1 doubles in dual matches.
•    Ally Burr's 14 doubles wins are the most by an Ichabod this season. Jodie Blackim has 13 and Gwen Shepler and MaKenna Gonzales each have 12.
•    MaKenna Gonzales and Laura Shkembi are 10-3 at No. 3 doubles in dual matches.
•    Jodie Blackim's 69 career doubles wins is seventh all-time at Washburn  … with five more this season she can move into the top five all-time.
•    Statistically speaking, the Ichabods are a combined 73-69 (.514) in singles play and
46-25 (.648) in doubles action.

 Coaching . . .
Former Ichabod tennis player Lance Lysaught is in his second season as the Ichabod women's head coach. He is 23-38 as a women's collegiate head coach in his fourth season and 12-21 at Washburn.

 Up next . . .
The Ichabods will take on Nebraska-Kearney on April 21 and then finish the regular season hosting Southwest Baptist on April 24.
