TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabods came up short in a 5-1 loss to Nebraska-Kearney at the Washburn Tennis Complex on Thursday afternoon. The Ichabods will wrap up the regular season on Sunday when they will play host to Southwest Baptist.

Washburn was down 3-0 after doubles play. Both Laura Shkembi and Jodie Blackim lost tough three-set matches at No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively. Washburn's lone win came at No. 3 singles when Maggie Plum defeated Paula Jimenez 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
