TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod women's tennis team fell in its regular season finale 8-1 to No. 11-ranked Southwest Baptist on Sunday at the Washburn Tennis Complex. The Ichabods will open MIAA Tournament play on Friday in Springfield, Mo., facing Northeastern State.

The Ichabods were down 3-0 after doubles play to the Bearcats. In singles, the Bearcats swept flights one through five. Gwen Shepler picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win over Beatrix Federer for Washburn's point.
