KANSAS CITY,Mo. – In its first dual-match of the season, the Ichabod men's tennis team swept William Jewell 9-0 at the Plaza Tennis Courts in Kansas City, Mo. Wednesday evening.

The Ichabods picked up all three of the doubles points after sweeping William Jewell on all three courts. The doubles pairing of Alejandro Valarezo Plaza and Blake Allen competed at the No. 1 doubles position dominating the match and allowing only one point for an 8-1 victory.

On court two Matt Barlow and Paul Haase ousted another pair of Cardinals 8-2 while Tommy Hunter and Brett White completed won in an 8-4 decision on court three.

The Ichabods dominance carried over into singles play with five out of six courts being decided in two sets. Valareza plaza earned his fourth singles victory of the season with a two-set win over William Jewells Amery Clews (7-5, 6-2). Hunter took it down to the wire with a win over Marc Gartner in three sets for his 5^th singles win of the season and third consecutive. Barlow and Hunter won each of their matches in straight sets with identical scores of 6-1, 6-1. Paul Haase added to the Ichabods score with a win over Caul Pearson while Chase Brill completed the clean sweep with a two-set 6-0, 6-0 win over Hayden Fulk.

The Ichabods are now 1-0 on the season and will return to action when they host Truman State on Sept. 24 at noon.
