Box Score EDMOND,Okla. – Washburn Soccer dropped to 5-3-1 on the season after dropping its first match in six games on Friday evening in a 2-0 decision to Central Oklahoma.
The Ichabods weren't able to gain any momentum after allowing back-to-back goals in the first half less than a minute apart. A goal from Broncho forward Mikayla Lowery followed up less than a minute later by a goal from Katie Killon gave Central Oklahoma a 2-0 lead at the break.
Not much changed after the break when Central Oklahoma continued to find ways to outshoot the Ichabods, outshooting Washburn 6-1 in the second half and 14-2 overall.
Kaitlin Minnich played every minute in goal for the Ichabods recording one save on 14 shots faced. Kate Combs and Olivia Stovall led Washburn with one shot a piece.
The Ichabods drop to 5-3-1 on the season and Central Oklahoma improve to 6-2-1. Washburn will close out its two-match road trip to Oklahoma when it faces No. 23 Northeastern State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
