RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. --- The Washburn University volleyball capped its time in Arkansas with a pair of victories as it swept Ouachita Baptist and Alabama-Huntsville to climb to 9-3 on the season.
Makayla Maxwell and
Faith Rottinghaus were each named to the all-tournament team. With the conclusion of the invitational, the Ichabods will now focus their attention to conference play as they open the MIAA schedule with trips to Nebraska-Kearney and Fort Hays State.

Erica Montgomery and
Allison Maxwell, the Ichabods cruised past regional foe Ouachita Baptist in straight sets to open the day.Â
Montgomery finished with a match-best 14 kills while Maxwell had 10 kills.
Genna Berg registered nine as
Olivia Powell and
Makayla Maxwell accounted for eight kills apiece.
Allison Sadler eclipsed the 40-assist plateau for third consecutive match as she finished with 44.
Faith Rottinghaus totaled 15 digs.
During the first two sets, Washburn neither trailed nor was forced into a tie. The Ichabods opened the match by rolling out to a 6-0 advantage before a 6-4 rally by OBU saw the margin dwindled to four as the Tigers made it 10-6. Washburn pushed the Tigers aside as it took the first set, 25-16.
Washburn outhit Ouachita Baptist in the opening set, .400-.276, as the Ichabods landed 17 kills from 35 attempts with three errors.Â
In the second set, Washburn again bolted out to a comfortable lead as it opened with a 13-4 lead before quickly reaching a double-figure advantage at 19-9. OBU trimmed the Ichabod advantage to single-digits down the stretch but the effort was not enough as Washburn took the set, 25-17.
The Ichabods faced their only tie of the match in the third set as the Tigers made it 1-1. Washburn then rattled off four straight as it regained a lead where it remained en route to winning the frame, 25-19 and completing the sweep.
Ichabod hitters were finding their spots as the team outhit Ouachita Baptist .289-.126 while they also rang up four aces.

The Ichabods faced a bit more of a challenge in their final match against UAH as the sides battled through 17 ties and six lead changes.
Washburn open the match with a 5-1 burst. The advantage soon disappeared however as the Chargers duplicated WU's opening run to knot the score at 6-6. Control the board then changed hands as UAH went up 8-7 before an Charger error and a kill from Montgomery put Washburn back in control at 9-8. After a 3-0 spurt pushed Washburn through a 9-9 tie, the Ichabods stayed out front leading by as much as six en route to winning the opening set, 25-19.
The second set was the most contested of the match as it featured four lead changes and 11 ties including seven within the first 24 points. Tied at 12-12, a trio of Washburn miscues allowed UAH to assume a 15-12 advantage. The Ichabods however did not let the mistakes get to them as its accounted for seven of the next eight points to lead, 19-16. Washburn held its advantage until a late 5-2 rally by UAH tied the set at 24. The Ichabods again slugged through as they registered three of the final four points taking the frame, 27-25.
A pair of early ties failed to trip up Washburn in the third set as it dictated the tempo and rolled out to a 12-6 lead after UAH leveled the score at 6-6. From then on the Ichabods never looked back as forged ahead by as much as seven down the stretch before finishing the sweep with a 25-15 results.
Washburn outhit UAH, .210-.055 and held the Chargers sub-.100 hitting in the first (.060) and third sets (-.143).Â
Allison Maxwell led the Ichabod offense as she recorded career-highs with 12 kills and a .733 hitting percentage and finished the day hitting .580.
Makayla Maxwell was a block shy of a double-double as she registered 10 kills and nine blocks.
Allison Sadler penned her first career double-double with 33 assists and 14 digs.
Faith Rottinghaus had a team-best 23 digs.
