MARYVILLE, Mo. --
Alexis Czapinski won the singles bracket, highlighting the women's tennis team's performance in the Northwest Missouri State University-hosted Bearcat Invitational Saturday.
Czapinski defeated two fellow Ichabods
MaKenna Gonzales and
Madison Lysaught on her way to winning the singles title, defeating Northwest Missouri State's Tania Teruel in the final 2-6, 6-4, 10-7. Lysaught made it to the semifinal before her match with Czapinski.
On the doubles bracket, the team of
Ally Burr and
Jacqueline Engelbrecht won their first match against the Bearcats' Marta Ferrando and Irene Recuenco 8-3, but fell to Klara Vickov and Jill Van den Dungen in the semifinals.
Czapinski and
Logan Morrissey lost their first match of the bracket, but went on to win the consolation bracket.
