SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The women's tennis team concluded their participation in the ITA Central Regional Championships Saturday, winning a total of eight matches throughout doubles and singles competition.
Logan Morrissey and
Alexis Czapinski each advanced through day one of the A singles bracket, winning their first two matches in the 64-woman field to enter the round of 16. They were both, however, thwarted in that round, Czapinski by Ana Royo of the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and Morrissey by Ali Hodges of the University of Central Oklahoma.
On the B bracket,
Ally Burr was able to advance to the quarterfinals, taking down players from Nebraska-Kearney and Central Oklahoma, before losing to Karla Tomaic of Northeastern State University.
The duo of Czapinski/Morrisey also made the quarterfinals of the doubles tournament, before falling in a tough 9-8 match to Tatjana Stoll and Molly Worden of Northeastern State.
