TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabods men's junior varsity basketball team started the 2018 campaign with an 88-72 win over the Ottawa Braves on Saturday morning.

JoBreil Powell went 8-13 from the field, including hitting four from behind the arc, to lead the Ichabods with 22 points. He also handed out a game-high six assists. Michael Juneman added 17 points to the cause along with a team-high five steals. Also scoring double digits for Washburn was Spenser Wine (13) Tristin Lewis Dierking (11). 

Up next for Washburn, the Ichabods will play at Fort Scott Community College for a scrimmage game on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
