First Serve …
•   The Ichabods will enter a two-match stretch with NAIA opponents, taking on the Braves of Ottawa University Friday in the Ichabods' first home match.
•    The Braves enter the match with a record of 3-1, a solid start coming off of a 6-13 year in 2017.
   The only loss the Braves have taken this season came from Division II Rockhurt, in a close 4-5 effort.
•     This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams.
•     The Ichabods will be taking on head coach
Lance Lysaught's former team in the Braves. He coached at Ottawa from the inception of the tennis program in 2012 to 2014.
 Week in Review …
• The Ichabods put together a close, but impressive 5-4 win against No. 21 Oklahoma Baptist Saturday.
• The Bison were also ranked No. 4 in the Central region, one spot behind the Ichabods.

Alejandro Valarezo continued his undefeated start in No. 1 singles play, winning in three sets.
Paul Haase,
Bradley Eidenmueller and
Raul-Alin Dicu also took singles victories.
• The duo of Valarezo and
Blake Hunter was the lone doubles team to pick up a doubles win for the Ichabods, winning their 17th match of the season.
• At the No. 6 slot, Dicu won his first singles match of duals play.
 Nationally Ranked Ichabods …
•   As a team, the Ichabods find themselves ranked No. 19 in the nation, the first top-25 appearance in the ITA poll under head coach
Lance Lysaught.
•   After a historic fall, Valarezo is ranked No. 4 in the nation in singles.
• The aformentioned team of Valarezo and Hunter remain at No. 4 in the nation in doubles.
 Regional Rankings Abound …
•   The Ichabods are ranked No. 3 in the Central region.
•     Four Ichabods make the regional rankings in singles play, including Valarezo at No. 1.
•   Joining Valarezo is
Blake Hunter at No. 12, freshman
Bradley Eidenmueller at No. 15, and sophomore
Paul Haase at No. 17.
•   The Valarezo/Hunter team also tops the doubles regional rankings.
 History Made in the Fall …
• Valarezo made history as the first Ichabod to win the ITA Regional Singles and Doubles Tournaments.
•   The four Ichabods in the top 20 regional singles rankings each made the round of 16 in the ITA Regional Singles Tournament.
•   In fall tournament play, the Ichabods swept the doubles portion of the Wheatstate Fall Classic.
•   Sophomore
Chase Brill also won the C-singles bracket at the same tournament.
 New Faces …
•     Eidenmueller is making an impressive start to his freshman season, with an 11-3 overall singles record and 3-0 in duals action. Dicu has a winning record in singles action, including his first duals victory Saturday.
•   Former Ichabod
Matt Barlow is in his first season as an assistant coach. Barlow is a two-time team MVP and has made multiple All-MIAA honors.

Moving up the Career Ranks …

Blake Hunter needs just five more wins in the spring to become the all-time leader in men's doubles victories in Washburn history.
•   Valarezo has also moved his way into the top 10 in doubles victories over the fall, and has moved up to eighth in the spring.
•   In singles action,
Blake Hunter sits at sixth place in all-time victories with 64, while Valarezo has moved into sole possession of ninth place with 58 wins. Valarezo also holds the top spot all-time is doubles winning percentage, at .835.
