Box Score TOPEKA, Kan. -- The No. 21 Washburn men's tennis team had its second consecutive sweep Friday, taking down McPherson College 9-0.

Doubles action was a dominant 3-0 decision for the Ichabods, as no team let up more than two games to the Bulldogs. The No. 2 team of Chase Brill and Paul Haase won their match 8-0, while the No. 3 team of Bradley Eidenmueller and Raul-Alin Dicu took their match 8-1, and the No. 1 team of Alejandro Valarezo and Blake Hunter defeated their counterparts 8-2.

In singles play, the No. 4 nationally-ranked Valarezo defeated McPherson's No. 1 Jacob Turley 6-1, 6-3. Haase clinched the duals victory by defeating the No. 3 singles player from McPherson 6-2, 6-4.

Eidenmueller rounded out the sweep by defeated McPherson's No. 4 singles competitor, Juan Jimenez, 6-1, 6-3.

With the win, the Ichabods improve to 4-1 on the season, winning each of their last four. This is third 9-0 victory for the Ichabods on the year. Their next match will be against Newman at noon on March 3 in Wichita, Kan. The Jets are 3-2 in 2018.
