Box Score TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn women's tennis team won its fifth straight match Saturday, defeating Missouri Western 7-2.

The Ichabods remain undefeated in conference play after the win against the Griffons, and are now 6-2 overall.

In doubles action, the No. 1 team of Alexis Czapinski and Logan Morrissey improved to 7-1 on the season in duals play after winning their match 8-6. The Ichabods took two of three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead.

The Ichabods clinched quickly, as they took each of the first three singles matches. Madison Lysaught was the first Ichabod to win, defeating her No. 5 opponent 6-0, 6-0. MaKenna Gonzales added to the Ichabods' lead by winning out of No. 6 singles 6-2, 6-2, before Jacqueline Engelbrecht was the match-deciding victory, winning her No. 3 match 6-3, 6-0.

Engelbrecht and Czapinski each improved to 7-1 in duals action with their wins on Saturday.

The Ichabods' next match will be on the road, as they take on Fort Hays State in another conference matchup. The match will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Hays, Kansas.
