•   The Washburn women's tennis team will enter the latter half of its toughest stretch of the regular season, taking on two more nationally-ranked teams in No. 6 Central Oklahoma and No. 5 Northeastern State.
• The RiverHawks are 10-4 on the season, while the Bronchos are 11-2.
• The Ichabods will look for their first ever victory over the RiverHawks, and their second straight victory over the Bronchos after defeating them in the first round of the MIAA tournament in 2017.
 Week in Review …
•   The Ichabods battled two teams now ranked in the top 10 in No. 9 Saint Leo (Fla.) and No. 10 Southwest Baptist, losing 8-1 to the Lions and falling in a tight, 5-4 battle with the Bearcats.
•   No. 3 singles player
Jacqueline Engelbrecht improved to a team-best 10-2 record in duals.
•   In doubles, the No. 1 team of Czapinski and
Logan Morrissey had a perfect week, and boosted their duals record to 11-1. They defeated two nationally-ranked teams, including SBU's No. 1 team which ranks in the top 10.
•   At No. 6 singles player
MaKenna Gonzales, as well as the No. 2 doubles team of Engelbrecht and
Alysha Nowacki, split in their two matches. Gonzales' duals record moved to 6-3 on the year, while Engelbrecht/Nowacki's record moved to 7-5.
 Ichabods' Season Outlook …                                        Â
•   In the ITA preseason poll, the Ichabods are ranked No. 9 in the Central Region.
•   Two singles players find themselves in the ITA preseason regional rankings;
Alexis Czapinski debuts at No. 12, while
Logan Morrissey begins the year at No. 15.
•   In regional doubles rankings, the team of Czapinski and Morrissey are ranked No. 5.
•   The pair also made their debut in national doubles rankings at No. 11. Czapinski lands at No. 62 in the nation in singles
•   The Ichabods are challenged with one of the toughest conferences in the country, as five teams are ranked in the national top 50.
Making Adjustments …
•     After playing No. 3 singles last season,
Logan Morrissey has moved up to the No. 2 spot, and has found success with a 7-5 record so far.
•   After pairing with
Madeline Hill at the No. 1 doubles slot last season, Engelbrecht has found a new partner in freshman
Alysha Nowacki, playing No. 2 doubles. The duo is 7-5 on the season.
 Successful Fall …
• The Ichabods had multiple first-place finishes in fall season tournaments, including sweeping each singles bracket at the Wheatstate Fall Classic.

Alexis Czapinski also won the singles bracket in the Bearcat Invitational, hosted by Northwest Missouri State.
 Impressive ITA Showings …
•    Czapinski and Morrisey each made the round of 16 in the regional singles tournament, as well as the duo making it to the quarterfinal round of the doubles tournament.

•   Czapinski, in her first spring with the Ichabods, is racking up impressive victories on both the singles and doubles sides. She is 20-5 on the year in singles.

Alysha Nowacki began her freshman year in the spring, and has found chemistry with doubles partner
Jacqueline Engelbrecht, with a 7-5 record on the season. She is also 4-8 on the season in No. 4 singles.
