EDMOND, Okla. – The Washburn women's tennis team fell for the sixth consecutive math, losing to No. 6 Central Oklahoma, 8-1.
The Ichabods' No. 1 doubles team, ranked No. 11 in the nation, continued their winning streak by defeating the Brochos' No. 1 team 8-2. However, the Bronchos were able to take a 2-1 lead after doubles action concluded.
In singles, the Ichabods were unable to score a decision in singles, with the Bronchos clinching the dual after the third singles match.
With the loss, the Ichabods drop to 7-7 overall, 3-4 in the MIAA. The Ichabods will have a chance to climb back above .500 when they take on Lindenwood. The match will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Topeka.
