LINCOLN, Neb. – The Washburn women's tennis team had its MIAA Tournament run come to an end Tuesday, as the Ichabods fell to No. 1 seed Northeastern State, 5-0.
The RiverHawks started out by sweeping the Ichabods in doubles action. The Ichabods' No. 1 team of
Alexis Czapinski and
Logan Morrissey lost their second consecutive match after winning their previous 17. The No. 2 team of
Jacqueline Engelbrecht and
Ally Burr came closest to pulling off an upset, as they were defeated 8-5 by the RiverHawks.
In singles, the No. 3-slotted Morrissey and the No. 1-slotted Czapinski each fell to their NSU counterparts, ending the match after Czapinski's loss.
Jacqueline Engelbrecht's No. 2 singles match was halted in the process.
