TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn women's tennis team finished MIAA play with a winning record Thursday, as the Ichabods defeated Emporia State 9-0.
Playing with just four players, the Hornets had to forfeit three matches, giving the Ichabods a 3-0 head start heading into doubles action. After the No. 1 and No. 2 teams pulled out victories, the Ichabods had already clinched the win.
In singles play, each of the Ichabods in action defeated their opponents in doubles play.

Madison Lysaught each added a win to their season totals, cinching up a 9-0 and improving to 9-7 on the season, 5-4 in conference play.
The Ichabods have two more non-conference matches before the start of the MIAA tournament, starting with Rockhurst at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Topeka. The Hawks are 9-5 on the year.
