TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Women's Tennis team rolled past Cowley County Community College with a 7-0 exhibition victory at the Washburn Tennis Complex on Tuesday afternoon. The Ichabods will back in action this Friday-Saturday, Sept. 14-15 at the Midwestern State Invitational in Wichita Falls, Texas.

The Ichabods swept the doubles matches as Alexis Czapinski and Logan Morrissey defeated Takalani Molaoa and Allana Molner 6-3 at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Jacqueline Engelbrecht and Maria Soler Valverde topped Kristela Vidnere and Aletta Macheli 6-2 and at No. 3 doubles Ally Burr and MaKenna Gonzales won over Mariana Rodriguez and Margot Fontaine 7-6.

Washburn powered through and swept the singles as well. Czapinski defeated Molaoa at No. 1 singles by the scores of 6-1, 6-1 while Valverde topped Vidnere 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. No. 3 singles was won by Engelbrecht over Molner 6-1, 6-3 followed by Morrissey's 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles over Macheli.

Svea Crohn topped Fontaine 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 5 slot. Finishing out the day for Washburn, Madison Lysaught defeated Coraline Lamer 7-6, (7-5) at No. 6.
