Washburn Soccer hits the road for a pair of away games

Take a Look Ahead
  • The Washburn Ichabods will travel for two road games this week.
  • The Ichabods take on the Lopers of Nebraska-Kearney Friday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m.
  • The Ichabods will then head to Emporia, Kan. for a matinee meeting with the Hornets on Sunday, Sept. 16. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Last Week
  • The Ichabods dropped a pair of games last week to William Jewell and Oklahoma Baptist for their first losses of the season.
  • Freshman Josie Rimmer scored two goals against William Jewell, but it wasn't enough as Washburn fell 3-2 in double overtime.
  • Washburn and Oklahoma Baptist were tied 1-1 at halftime, but a second half surge by the Bison pushed the game to a 4-1 final.

Some Real Kickers
  • Freshman Josie Rimmer had a break out game against William Jewell as she scored two goals in the match. 
  • Rimmer has also taken nine shots, eight of which have been on goal, for a SOG percentage of .889.
  • Olivia Grasso netted her first goal of the season against Oklahoma Baptist. 
  • Tera Lynch leads the team in assists with three. Through four games, she has already matched her assist total from 2017.
  • Kelsi Smith has recorded two assists.

'Bods and Ends
  • The Ichabods held opponents scoreless for 229 minutes to start the season until William Jewell scored a goal in the 49th minute on Sept. 6.
  • Through four games, five different Washburn players have scored at least one goal.
  • Seven different Ichabods have recorded at least one point. Rimmer and Lynch lead the way with five points apiece.
