Scouting the Opponents

William Jewell

Series history: The Ichabods and Cardinals have never faced each other.

Scouting report: William Jewell started the 2017 season 4-0, but struggled offensively from that point on. After those first four games, the team was held scoreless in eight of the remaining 13 games. The 2018 season has started off 0-1-1, but the young group of Cardinals are looking to turn things around.

Kayla Crowder is the team's top returning goal scorer, as she netted two in 2017 as a freshman. Gracie Schweinfurth recorded one goal and two assists last year. Freshman Kaylie Kappelmann has made both starts for WJ this season, facing 27 shots, making 15 saves, and allowing three goals.

Oklahoma Baptist
Series history: This will be the first meeting between the Lady Bison and Ichabods.

Scouting report: Oklahoma Baptist was picked second in the 2018 Great American Conference Coaches' Preseason poll after the team finished 15-2-3 and reached the GAC Championship Final last year, just their third year as a program. However, the Lady Bison are off to a slow start after they were shutout in the first two games of the opening week, falling to Bemidji State 1-0 and Minot State 3-0.

The team's two top goal scorers returned from the 2017 squad. Ruth King, now a junior, led the offense with 13 goals and recorded seven assists last season. Sophomore Hannah White knocked in seven goals and dished out four assists in '17.

Emily Griffith returns in the net for the Lady Bisons. Griffith played in all 20 games and started 18 of those. Over the course of the season, she faced 171 shots, made 60 saves and allowed 19 goals for a goal allowed average of 0.91.
