- The Ichabods will host to MIAA conference matches at home this weekend.
- Washburn soccer will player Newman on Friday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. at Yager Stadium.

Last Time Out
- The Ichabods finished the trip to Oklahoma 1-1 this past weekend.

Scouting the Jets
Newman University was picked eighth overall in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll, just above Washburn. The Jets finished the 2018 season 12-4-3 overall and 8-3-3 in conference matches. Newman lost in the first round of the Heartland tournament. This season the Jets are currently 6-3-3 overall and 2-2-1 in conference matches.
The Jets tied Nebraska-Kearney, 0-0, and lost to Fort Hays, Northeastern State and Central Missouri. Newman defeated Missouri Southern and Rogers State in conference matches. In nonconference matches Newman tied Central Oklahoma after two overtimes.
Senior, Kennedy Weaver, leads the Jets with 19 points from six goals and seven assists. Weaver has taken 20 shots on goal so far this season. Freshman, Selina Vidhammer, has tallied two goals this season and one was in the 3-2 win over Missouri Southern.
Junior defender, Kyra Butler, returns to the back line for the Newman Jets. She started in 18 of the 19 games she played in that year. Jackie Lari returns to defend the net and has started 11 games so far this season. Lari has tallied seven shutouts so far this season and a save percentage of .904.
Scouting the Bronchos
Central Oklahoma received the top spot in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll after finishing the 2018 season 22-2 overall and 10-1 in conference play. The Bronchos won the MIAA regular season and the MIAA tournament. This season the Bronchos are currently 8-2-2 overall and 3-2-0 in conference matches. The Bronchos are currently ranked No. 24 in the NCAA DII Poll.
The Bronchos have lost to Fort Hays (1-2) and Central Missouri (1-2) so far this season. In a nonconference match Central Oklahoma tied Newman after two overtimes, 0-0.
Central Oklahoma has score 40 goals after 12 matches and taken 121 shots on goal. Asha Haile and Kelsie Eason lead the Bronchos each with nine goals and seven assists. Last season they were two of the top-three scorers for the Bronchos.
Kaitlyn Asher defends the net for the Bronchos this season. She has started in 10 games and has tallied two shutouts. Asher has a save percentage of .737.
The Bronchos will play one more match against Emporia State on Fri., Oct. 18 before facing the Ichabods.
