Box Score JOPLIN, Mo. -- Washburn soccer lost to Missouri Southern 2-1 on Sun., Oct. 27. The Ichabods are now 7-7-1 and 2-5-1 in conference play.
Halle Hill scored the goal for the Ichabods.
Washburn got on the board first with a goal from Hill in the 25th minute of the match. Hill scored her second goal of the season with the assist from
Josie Rimmer. Ichabod defense was led by
Whitney Bockover and
Mattie Miano kept the Lions to only one shot on goal in the first half.
Raegan Wells saved the the one shot on goal take by MSSU.
The Lions tied the Ichabods in the 55th minute of the match. Washburn retaliated with three shots on goal in a span of five minutes but could not find the back of the net. In the 81st minute Missouri Southern scored the game winning goal.Â
Wells finished the match with five saves.
Josie Rimmer led the team in shot attempts with five.
Baileigh Pepper, Rimmer and Hill each took two shots on goal.
Washburn will travel to Emporia, Kan. to face the Hornets on Fri., Nov. 1 at 3 p.m. The Ichabods will return home to play the last game of the regular season against Fort Hays on Sun., Nov. 3 at 1 p.m.
