OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Washburn women's tennis completed the final day of ITA Regional Championships on Sun., Oct. 6. Washburn had one doubles team and two singles players advance to the finals of their brackets.
In the singles semifinals of the B main draw bracket,
Madison Lysaught won her match by default and advance to the championship match. She was crowned champion of the B main draw bracket after winning a super tie breaker with a score of 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (11). Lysaught went undefeated this fall finishing with a record of 8-0.Â
Sydnee Foster won her semifinals match in the B back draw bracket with a score of 8-2. Foster advanced to the championship match and lost, 8-3.Â
The team of
Logan Morrissey and
Svea Crohn claimed second place in the A main draw bracket at the ITA Regional Championships. The team won their semifinals match in a super tie breaker with a score of 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (1). Morrissey and Crohn lost the championship match in a super tie breaker with a score of 6-4, 3-6, 0-1(4). The pair finished the fall season with a record of 6-1.Â
Washburn women's tennis to return to action in the Spring of 2020.Â
