Box Score EMPORIA, Kan. -- Washburn soccer lost to Emporia 1-0 on Fri., Nov. 1. Washburn is now 7-8-1 and 3-6-1 in conference play.
In the first half both teams had limited chances on goals. Halle Hill recorded the only shot on goal of the half. Tera Lynch and Paige Ledesma each attempted a shot. Emporia led in attempted shots 4-3 over the Ichabods. Washburn defense kept the Hornets to zero shots on goal in the first half of the match.
The match was scoreless for the first 20 minutes of the second half. Lynch fired off two shots on goal for the Ichabods but could not find the back of the net. In the 85th minute Mackenzie Dimarco scored to give Emporia the 1-0 lead over the Ichabods.
Washburn was out shot 12-7 by the Hornets. Raegan Wells finished the match with four saves. Lynch tallied four shots with two on goal.
Washburn will return home for the final match of the regular against Fort Hays State on Sun., Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. Washburn will be recognizing three seniors before the match.
