MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Washburn men's tennis team lost on the road at Northwest Missouri, 5-2, in their first MIAA match of the season Thursday afternoon. The Ichabods fall to 6-4 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.
 
Washburn won the doubles point after taking two of the three matches played. Chase Brill and Bradley Eidenmueller posted a 6-2 victory at No. 3. On court No. 1, Alejandro Valarezo Plaza and Paul Haase clinched the doubles point for the Ichabods with a 6-1 victory.

In singles action, the Bearcats clawed their way back into the dual and won five of six matches. Washburn put up a strong fight and extended four of the matches to all three sets. Eidenmueller posted his 10th singles victory of the season with his 6-1, 6-4 triumph at No. 5. He is now 10-7 overall.
 
The Ichabods will return home for one match as they take on Augustana this Saturday, March 23, at 2 p.m. The dual is currently scheduled to take place at the Washburn Tennis Complex.
