EDMOND, Okla. – The Washburn Ichabod softball team had its season come to an end in a 3-2 loss in 12 innings to Northeastern State as the RiverHawks pushed the final run across with a sac fly in the bottom of the frame. Washburn finishes the season 27-26.
The final run by the RiverHawks on a sac fly by Jess Schuler scored Alyssia Crick who led off the inning with a double to left and then moved to third on a single by Madison Boyd all in the 12
th inning.
Washburn went up 2-0 in the third inning after
Maddie Stipsits reached on a walk and then would come around to score on a single to left by
Ashley Ruder.
Taylor Kirk followed with a single of her down the right field line scoring
Samantha Stallbaumer.
The RiverHawks tied the score with two runs in the fifth inning and the teams would go the next six innings with a run until the bottom of the 12
th.
Washburn's
Raegen Hamm (14-14) took the loss in the circle pitching all 11 2/3s innings throwing 170 pitches while striking out a career-high 12 scattering six hits. It was the fourth-longest outing in school history.
Stallbaumer finished led the Ichabods with three hits moving her season total to 80 which is the third-best single season total in program history.
Halle England had two hits and Ruder, Kirk, Fuchs and Moore each had solo hits. Kirk and Ruder had the RBI and Stallbaumer and Stipsits each scored runs for Washburn.

• The game was the lonest game since a 12-inning game against Southwest Baptist on March 16, 2012 in a 6-5 win.
• The Ichabods are 34-49 all-time in the MIAA Tournament.
