>Â Brook Bolles hit a couple of milestones. First he surpassed 300 career pass completions. He became just the 10th Mule to ever complete 300 passes. Bolles also went over 5,000 passing yards, just the seventh Mule to reach that figure. With five touchdown passes, Bolles also passes Tommy Corwin for ninth all-time with 38.
>Â Not only did Bolles throw for his first 400 yard game, he set a new school record throwing for 506 yards, the first Mule to ever throw for 500 yards in a game. His 520 yards of total offense is also a single-game record.
>Â Bolles had three touchdown passes of more than 6 yards: 72, 80, and 68.
>Â This is the second time the Mules have started 3-0 under Coach Svoboda. They went 3-0 in 2016 on their way to an NCAA postseason berth.

 Last meeting with Central Missouri
(Sept. 22, 2018) TOPEKA, Kan. -- The Washburn Ichabod football team held the No. 2-ranked offense in the country to 174 yards in the second half and snapped a six-game losing streak to Central Missouri as the Ichabods topped the No. 16-ranked Mules 28-21 on Family Day in Yager Stadium.
After the Mules scored on their first possession taking advantage of a short field after a big punt return, they needed three plays to move 21 yards after a Jeremy Hunt to Shae Wyatt touchdown pass. But the Ichabods came right back on the ensuing drive scoring in only 1:40.
Will Hamilton pulled down a 48-yard touchdown pass from
Mitch Schurig who was making his first career start to put the Ichabods up 7-6 with 10:35 left in the first quarter.
The Ichabods added to their lead after an interception by
Heath Tucker put Washburn back in business and Washburn would go up 14-6 with 9:59 to play in the first as Schurig hit
Michael Lickteig on a 22-yard strike.
Central Missouri scored the next 10 points of the game after an 18-yard run by Koby Wilkerson and a 37-yard field goal by Alex Langer as the Mules built a 15-14 lead.
Washburn returned to the scoring summary with a 33-yard touchdown pass from Schurig to
James Brania-Hopp capping an 8-play, 74-yard drive as Ichabods went up 21-15 and added to the lead on a 74-yard touchdown pass from Schurig to
Austen Hubert with 5:24 to play in the first half stretching the lead to 28-15.
The Mules wrapped up the scoring in the first half which the teams combined for 49 points and 554 yards of total of offense with a 20-yard score as Kyrion Paker and Hunt hooked up on a touchdown pass as the Mules trimmed the Ichabod lead to 28-21.
In the second half, Washburn held the Mules to 174 yards as UCM finished with 383 yards after averaging 571 yards per game entering the contest with the Ichabods while picking off four Central Missouri passes.
Neither team scored in the remaining 30 minutes of action.
The Ichabod defensive charge was led by
Austin Tillman who had 10 tackles and
Corey Ballentine had seven with a blocked field goal in the third quarter.
Heath Tucker had six stops and an interception and
Channon Ross had four tackles and his first career interception returning it 31 yards. Washburn's fourth interception was by
Kevin Neal, Jr.
Schurig finished with 361 passing yards and four touchdowns completing 24 of 37 passes.
James Brania-Hopp had career highs with 10 catches and 138 yards receiving and a score as eight different receivers pulled down passes for the Ichabods.
Hunter Browning led the Ichabods on the ground with 14 carries for 56 yards..

 Last time out for the Ichabods
(Sept. 21, 2019) TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn Ichabod football team fell in a Family Day overtime battle with Fort Hays State spoiling a fourth quarter comeback in a 41-38 loss to the Tigers.
Trailing 35-21 entering the fourth quarter,
Collin Wilson pulled the Ichabods within a touchdown when he caught a short pass from
Mitch Schurig and scooted 56 yards for the touchdown. After the Tigers were forced to punt, the Ichabods (1-2, 1-2 MIAA) used a 12-play, 72-yard drive to cut the lead to 35-31 after a 26-yard field goal by
Kameron Lake. On the ensuing drive, the Tigers fumbled the ball on their second play from scrimmage returning the ball to the Ichabods at the FHSU 29. Seven plays later the Ichabods would go up 38-35 when
Percy Mitchell scored from 2-yards out with 3:33 to go.
The Tigers then would march 68 yards on 15 plays setting up Dante Brown with a 24-yard game-tying field goal as time expired sending the game to overtime.
The Tigers (1-2, 1-2 MIAA) won the toss and elected to go on defense first. Washburn drove down to the Tiger 12 after completing a fourth down conversion but an interception by FHSU ended the drive. The Tigers then ran five plays capped by a 30-yard field goal by Dante Brown for the winner.
The Tigers scored first to open the game taking the 7-0 lead. Near the end of the first quarter,
Percy Mitchell scored from 1-yard out tying the game. The Tigers scored on their next drive going up 14-7, but on the ensuing kickoff,
James Letcher, Jr. became the third person in school history to return a kickoff 100 yards joining Cary Williams and
Fletcher Terrell as he tied the score at 14.
Wilson put the Ichabods up 21-14 with 5:05 to play in the first half before the Tigers tied it with 3:25 to play before the break.
Schurig was 18 of 38 passing for 239 yards with two scores and
Zach Willis led the Ichabods on the ground with 67 yards. Letcher and
Taylon Peters each had four catches and Wilson finished with 77 yards and two scores.
Kevin Neal, Jr., led the Ichabods with a career high 13 tackles after recording 10 last week at Northwest Missouri.

Landen Urban each had eight.
The Tigers outgained the Ichabods 494 to 377 picking up 333 passing yards recording 32 first downs compared to 19 for the Ichabods..
