SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The Washburn men's tennis team fell to Cameron, 6-1, on Saturday in the opening match of the spring season. The Aggies are tied for 20th in the ITA national rankings and have several players ranked regionally. 

The Aggies won the doubles point by taking two out of the three matches. Marc Roura Casi and Miller Zeiders defeated their opponents on court three by the score of 7-6.

In singles action, the top half of the Washburn order made up of Paul Haase, Roura Casi, and Raul-Alin Dicu forced all of their matches to go the distance of three sets, but were unable to come away with a victory. Bradley Eidenmueller fell at No. 4 singles, 2-6, 3-6. Freshman Miquel Perez made his debut for Washburn at No. 5 singles, but lost in straight sets, 3-6, 6-7.

Chase Brill won his match at No. 6 singles with a 6-1, 6-4 decision.

The Ichabods will stay in Springfield to take on the Drury Panthers, who are tied alongside Cameron for No. 20 in the rankings, tomorrow (Feb. 9) at 10 a.m.
