TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn women recorded their second-straight sweep of the week after a 7-0 decision over Tabor on Friday afternoon. The Ichabods are now 4-4 while Tabor falls to 1-6.

The Ichabods shut out the Bluejays in doubles play to start the duel. Logan Morrissey and Svea Crohn blanked their opponents at the top of the lineup, 6-0. On court two, Maria Soler Valverde and Kinsey Fields also recorded a 6-0 decision to clinch the point. The No. 3 doubles match was won by default by the Ichabods as Tabor did not have enough players.

In singles action, the Ichabods cruised to straight-set wins down the line. At the No. 1 spot, Soler Valverde did not drop a single game and won 6-0, 6-0. Crohn won her No. 2 singles match, 6-0, 6-1. Morrissey and Fields both won their matches by the score of 6-2, 6-1, at No. 3 and 5, respectively. Cadence Lynn also shut out her opponent, winning with a pair of 6-0 scores at the No. 4 slot. The No. 6 match was won by Washburn by default.

The Ichabods will play the next three matches on the road, starting at Newman on March 19 for an MIAA matchup.
